ATLANTA — One organization is highlighting Black-owned businesses and African American excellence.

The Financial Literacy Institute held the second annual Black Wall Street Expo on Saturday at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.
The expo allowed attendees to shop at Black-owned businesses, and enjoy food and entertainment for all ages.
The event also included a panel discussion of high-profile guests who will share ways of building financial literacy with steps to help circulate the Black dollar and create social change.

Participating panelists included psychologist and pan-African activist, Dr. Umar Johnson, Riverdale Mayor Evelyn Wynn-Dixon, Morris Brown College President Dr. Kevin James; and Financial Literacy Institute Founder, Jasmine Young, CPA.
The expo paid homage to African American heritage and will facilitate a discussion on how to best effect social change for the African American community.
The Financial Literacy Institute also awarded one business owner with a $1,000 Black Wall Street grant.
