Singapore/Hong Kong, 22 November 2022 – Moody’s Analytics was awarded Best Solution – Credit Risk Modelling in the 5th Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2022 at an in-person ceremony on 22 November 2022.

Moody’s Analytics was recognised for the combination of its RiskCalcTM and CreditEdgeTM solutions, which generate highly predictive measurements of credit risk of small businesses; private middle market, large private and public companies; commercial real estate (CRE), insurance companies, financial institutions, project finance, and more – throughout the end-to-end credit life cycle, and taking into account impacts from climate change and other ESG considerations.

RiskCalc provides default and recovery analytics to help clients assess credit risks of private firms, banks, projects, and insurance companies, powered by the Moody’s Analytics Data Alliance, one of the largest credit data consortia in the world. CreditEdge helps measure the credit risk of more than 40,000 public entities globally, based on financial statements, market information, news events, and a database of over 16,000 defaults over 50 years.

With its solutions, Moody’s Analytics offers a range of credit risk models, which are actively monitored and validated based on current economic conditions and the latest available datasets to ensure high predictability and accuracy. In addition, RiskCalc and CreditEdge are integrated across Moody’s Analytics solutions, allowing firms to use them in areas such as stress testing and capital planning.

“Moody’s Analytics allows firms analyse entire loan portfolios at once, which is important during an uncertain business environment, when lenders tend to run their analysis of credit risk more frequently,” noted one judge on the Regulation Asia awards panel. “The ability to run credit analytics on private firms is also hugely important, given that this has historically been a challenging area. The fact that some central banks rely on Moody’s signals its dependability.”

Moody’s Analytics credit risk solutions also leverage Orbis, which contains information and pre-calculated credit risk measures on over 425 million private and public companies and entities across the world.
