When the timing of Social Security payments is irregular, it can mean a very good thing for United States beneficiaries. It is possible to get two checks for two different benefits in the same week. This could be a big advantage over other months’ schedules.

It is true that we could also encounter the opposite case. Although it is not very common, the payment could arrive a little later if Social Security changes the calendar in a different way. But what is almost certain is that in most cases we will get the payment earlier when we have irregularities.

And in the case of March we have an irregularity that causes the Social Security retirement payment to show up on the same day as Supplemental Security Income. Requirements for getting two Social Security payments on the 1st of March

It is important to keep in mind that both payments are for different benefits. Therefore, if we do not have these two benefits accepted, we will not be able to get the payment. However, even if we have both Social Security checks, we may still be in a group that does not collect on the 1st.

In short, these are the mandatory requirements for collecting two Social Security checks on March 1st:

3. Have applied for a retirement check before May 1997.

You could still get your Supplemental Security Income payment on the 1st of the month and your retirement check on another day. Social Security will send other payments on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of March, as usual.
